Winter 2023 - Finksburg, MD
So last year I came out for early archery and was unsuccessful due to mother nature heating things up. I decided to come back this year for first gun. Even though its about the experience, leading up to this event 11 months later kept me on my seat and anxious. I arrived in camp knowing that this year the weather was good and it was my year. My guide Steve told me he was putting me in a spot that had been untouched for awhile and felt really positive. Steve said but if you kill something at least let me get back to the lodge lol. Low and behold, I tagged out by 6:40am and made the phone call with Steve just entering the lodge. A gorgeous 10 point and my biggest to date. These guys go above and beyond any outfitter out there. They are honest will do anything they can to help with your experience. From the airport taxi, to the cooking and accommodations, to the woods. Scott and crew are the best. Thank you for making my dreams come true. Forever family.

This was my first time on a guided hunt and would highly recommend this outfitter. Their guides are very knowledgeable and will do their best to put you on a buck of a lifetime. B&D Outfitters did not disappoint !!! We booked our bow hunt Oct 2023 and man we are so glad we did. The lodge was exceptional, food amazing and the guides some of the best we have ever hunted with. Fall 2023 - Nebo IL
Just got back from our first hunting trip to IL with B&D Outfitters. We had an absolute blast! Scott and his team Glen, Steve, and Mason were the best, professional and knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Deb and Ann made sure we were well fed. Accommodations were great and comfortable. We did not want for anything. There were 9 other hunters in camp and the guides took great care of us all. Everyone was friendly and it was great listening to their stories from the states they came from as well as sharing stories from our days hunt. Scott was our guide and he did everything possible to get us in the right spot. Changed plans based on wind/weather etc. It worked out well for me as I was able to harvest a monster buck, the biggest I ever had the opportunity to shoot (in Calhoun Co. there ya go Mason)When I first saw it I knew it was a shooter. When we found it is when I realized it was a monster. It was @200 lbs and scored 154. I shook a full half hour after the shot. Hunt of a lifetime. Everyone at camp saw shooters and four of us harvested great bucks. Aside from that I made B&D history as the first women to shoot a buck at camp. Pretty damn cool. Great time great people. First off let me pre face by saying this was my first out of state hunting trip. Scott and his guides are all top notch and made the lodge feel like deer camp that i grew up with . From the stories told on the porch to great cooking every night . I didn't get a chance at a buck but it wasn't for lack of effort the guides work their tail off to get you on deer but that's the joy of free range 100% fair chase is the thrill and excitement of the unknown day to day .I was able to leave with lifelong friendships and memories to last forever This will definitely be a place I plan to hunt with year in and year outMuzzleloader - Wilson, NY
I made my first trip to B&D for their late season muzzleloader hunt. My father has made multiple trips to B&D in the past 3 years. From the minute you arrive at camp, Scott and his guides make you feel at home. The accommodations are very comfortable. The food is excellent. Tree stands are comfortable for all day sits. Saw strong deer numbers during the three day hunt, just not the buck I was after. I plan on returning to B&D in the future and would highly recommend B&D to anyone.
Fall 2021 & 2022 - West Virginia
I can’t say enough good things about Scott and B&D Outfitters. This is an outfitter where you come as a hunter and leave as great friends. You are not just a number here, Scott goes out of his way to try and put you on deer and gives his hunters the best opportunity to harvest an Illinois giant! The lodge and the food are top notch. 2nd shotgun - Nebo Illinois
This was our first time hunting with B&D outfitters. We hunted the second shotgun season and really didn't know what to expect. I knew they were a newer outfit and had decent deer but we were a little reluctant when we showed up and were not hunting food during the late season. They have great land and even though this is their first year with this specific lease they had pics of some really good deer. The first afternoon I did see and shoot one of their target bucks! It doesn't always happen that way but I was really happy with the deer I shot. The guides were great, food was wonderful and the accommodations were very nice. I have a feeling that over the next few years they are going to shoot some really nice deer off that lease!
Winter 2022 - Pittsburgh, PA
Let me start with Scott’s team. Mason and Steve are great they welcomed me into the lodge and started talking like we knew each other for years. I don’t want to forget about Scott either he’s a hell of a guy and with great drive for clients success and keeping his clients happy. The property’s that Scott has are great which can accommodate many types of hunters and with change of seasons with deer activity. The ground blinds are great quality and comfy. The ladder stands are very roomy and solid. The lodge is amazing its comfy and stays warm after a cold day of hunting. The rooms and bunks are very nice and comfy also. The meals at B&D are delicious and they even give you dessert. They give you the option to have a breakfast in the morning also a option to take a lunch hunting with you! All in All B&D is a great establishment In Pike and Calhoun Counties. I booked a trip next year with them and I’m looking forward to the camp talks and the great hunting that they offer at a very affordable price!
Fall 2021 - Roswell, GA
I have been an avid hunter from the time I was born. I grew up hunting central PA and let's just say, with minimal success. When I got to B & D outfitters my mind was blown by the amenities they provide, but more importantly, by the quality of bucks we were seeing. On the third day of our hunt, I killed my first ever archery buck. Pike County, IL is a big buck hunters DREAM. Easily one of the best weeks of hunting I have ever had. I could not be any happier with my experience with B & D and I will 100% be back.
1st gun Fall 2022 - South Central Pennsylvannia
I met Scott at the Harrisburg Great Outdoor Show in 2022. After visiting over a dozen outfitters, I chose to go with B and D Outfitters. Scott, Steve, Mason and our cook Debbie are professional and genuinely care about their clients - they develop relationships not an assembly line. You'll appreciate what I'm saying when you meet him. My goal was to harvest a buck that I can't get in PA - at least an eight pointer. Keep in mind this is fare chase and the deer get a vote - believe me I know. Scott and I still hunted and flushed a shooter buck - yours truly did not get a shot off. Two hours later I'm ground hunting and overwatching incredible scrapes near a hallow and somehow, someway the biggest buck I've ever seen in my life pops only its head out from behind a tree 30 yards away - then used the tree as cover and disappeared - even now my head moves left and right when I think about these missed opportunities, but I would never trade-in the memories. I was on the hunt with Jim Watrous above - he is a hunter and from his tree stand he made one heck of a shot for his buck. I'm from South-Central PA and the deer I saw in Illinois are at least 10% bigger in body size. I saw spikes and 4 pointers that look like 5 to 6-pointers in my area. Hey Scott - here is some good news and some bad news. The good news is I'm booked for next year - the bad news is I'm "gonna" reduce your big buck population by one ;-) ! See you at the show.

Like many of you I’ve had the opportunity to hunt throughout the whole country. When it came time to hunt Illinois I didn’t know where to start. We met Scott at the hunting show in Harrisburg. He immediately made me feel comfortable enough to book a hunt. Scotts method is simple, from the minute you get into camp you feel like family. There is immediately a camaraderie amongst the hunters in camp. I’ve met and hunted with some of the hardest hunters three years in a row now. The hunting can be tough at times but Scott and his incredible guides do their best to find and help you bag that trophy you are looking for. The accommodations are amazing and the cooking is top notch. The hunting land that Scott has in his arsenal are second to none. This is the outfitter you want Illinois with. Started Hunting with B&D Outfitters in 2020 and have been back every year since and booked for 2023 before I left. As a guy who only hunted in the Adirondacks it's everything that I imagined it to be. For me, it's not just about the hunting, which is fantastic, but it is also about the experience. I look forward to going back for that bigger and better buck but also to regroup with Scott Bean, his family who are all part of B&D, the guides and the other hunters in camp who also return every year. Fall of 2022 bow season - Saxonburg, Pa
I went out to B and D outfitters not knowing or ever meeting anyone who would be there or even the owner Scott. As arriving to the lodge it was like pulling into a hunting camp that you been going to for years. Accommodations are wonderful. The food is definitely not frozen meals every night is home cooked feels after a long day of hunting. All the stands are set very well and easily marked not a problem to find in the dark. When these guys says that they will try anything to get you on deer they mean it. Very excited for the 2023 gun hunt with returning friends made at B and D Outfitters

I have hunted throughout the US and Canada. Illinois was on my daughter's top two places for a big buck dream hunt. I heard many good things about B&D outfitters, so decided to take a shot at them for her 16th Bday gift. The weather was beautiful for a beach vacation not for hunting lol, but Scott and his crew did absolutely everything they could to get her on a big buck. The food, lodging, atmosphere, everything, was all top notch. Even though we came home having to eat tag soup, she is already booked to try again next year, and I even booked a week of archery for myself. Highly recommend B&D!

My second hunt at B&D Outfitters. Accommodations and food top notch. Scott works hard to get you the opportunity at a great deer. Saw lots of deer during my week out there with my bow. Finally got to close the deal on a nice 10 point. Already booked for 2023 bow hunt. Can’t wait to going back for an opportunity for maybe a bigger one. Highly recommend you giving B&D outfitters a try.

Scott was the second booth we stopped at in the Harrisburg show and I told my buddy that’s where we are going. It turned out to be true and a very good choice. It was a great experience starting with the anticipation of watching the trail cam pictures over the summer to being lucky enough to harvest a great buck and now the memories and looking forward to picking up my mount at the show this year. I can’t say enough about Scott, Steve and Mason and their efforts to do everything they can to make it the best. Camp was comfortable and everyone couldn’t help but quickly become friends. The only decisions left are what seasons to return for.

I hunted last muzzleloader season. Even though I didn’t get a deer Scott tried everything possible for me to tag out. Everyone was super nice hunter with a great group of guys and guides. The logde and food I give 5 stars. I’ve already booked for next year

We went up to Illinois for late season archery. This trip was the conclusion to my first ever archery season and my first out of state hunt. There were some long days in the woods, but B&D did an incredible job at setting us up for success every single day. The lodging was far above the quality I was expecting and Deb’s cooking was phenomenal (personally my favorite part of heading back to the lodge each night.) From the lodging to the conversations, the guides Mason and Steve along with Owner Scott Bean made me feel welcome and helped me learn a lot about life and hunting on this trip. They did everything they could to put us in front of the deer every day and were a huge part of making the trip a success. This outfitter brings personality to the experience that other outfitters don’t, which is why I will be choosing them for my next trip to Illinois. My buddy and I came from Florida to hunt son midwest whitetails and Scott and his team did not disappoint! Cold temps and moderate wind had deer movement to a halt but Scott and his team were still able to put me on a nice Illinois buck! The lodge is super cool and the food is great! I look forward to my next encounter with B & D outfitters

Late season Dec 15-19 - Manheim Pennsylvania
This was my first ever out of state hunt & it was exactly what I was looking for! The accommodation were off the charts, the food was amazing (Home cooked meals by Deb every night) the guides, Mason, Steve & Scott we’re trying to get us on some big buck every day if we saw one they would try to set us up for that buck the next day! Amazing properties from hunting fields in the evenings to hunting timber/bedding in the mornings. The lodge and guides made the trip feel like we were at our cabins in Pennsylvania & I think that’s why I would 200% keep going back! Wasn’t able to harvest a buck but saw two big buck & that hunting! 10/10
Fall October 2022 - Finksburg, MD
So this was my first experience with an Outfitter. I chose B&D because they were honest, they spoke the truth, and Scott the owner spoke with me like we new each other for years! I had over a 100 outfitters to choose from but I chose B&D. I chose to hunt the early rut bow season in October. The weather did not play in our favor, but Scott and his staff did everything possible to put us on the deer. I hunted hard and seen many shooters just not in range. The entire staff was phenomenal, the food was 5 stars, the lodge is 5 stars, and I have already booked my trip for 2023. I promise you that the experience with B&D will be the best of your life!

Hands down the number one outfitter to hunt with in IL. The entire team is phenomenal. Lodge, is great, makes you feel like you're at hunting camp back home. The ladies in the kitchen make sure you don't go hungry. Scott and his guides do everything they can to make sure you are on deer. I scored 2 of my best bucks with Scott and his team. Can't wait to go back in 2023.

Fall Youth Gun Season - Nebo
Scott is second to none in accommodations, food and hunting. The lodge is great! It is very spacious with plenty of room for hunters both in common areas as well as bunk rooms. The food is tremendous! I had seconds at every meal. The hunting is great, Scott does not stop until he has done everything possible to make you successful. My grandson absolutely loved everything about the experience. Not to mention learning a thing or two along the way. Already booked next year youth season and can't wait to return with my grandson!
Fall early goose season 2020 - Nebo,IL
This was my first ever hunt with an outfitter and after spending 3 days hunting geese and teal with scott it definately wont be my last. Scott truly cares about his clients and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you are happy. I will definately be returning next year!

I have been on three hunts with different outfitters. One in Canada for bear, one in Wyoming/ Nebraska for rio/Miriam turkey, and here at B&D Outfitters for whitetail. I have to tell you he's set the bar high at a new high. Scott has a plan and he pushes for everyone to succeed. Best outfitter yet.
